YouTube配信は不具合があり一部音声が聞こえなかったのですが、平凡な毎日の中に神様のご臨在を感じることができること、神様はいつもの場所を聖なる場所に変えることができるお方なので、モーセのように私たちも神様を大胆に求めていきたいと思いました。

Good morning, everyone!
みなさま、おはようございます！
Thank you for welcoming me today.
本日はお招きいただき誠にありがとうございました。
It is an honor to open God's word with you this morning.
今朝、みなさまに、神様の御言葉を解き明かさせていただけること、光栄に思います。
Have you ever felt like so much of your life was just ordinary?
さて、人生の大半が、ただ平凡に過ぎているとお感じになったことはありますか？
I know that I have felt this way.
私もそう感じたことがあります。
I have the same conversations, go to the same places, do the same things, and so on.
いつも同じ会話をして、同じ場所に行き、同じことを繰り返しています...
But we as Christians believe that God is with us, right?
しかし私たちクリスチャンは、神様が共におられると信じていますよね？
It is even in the name of this denomination, Immanuel, God with us.
この教団の名前にもなっています。インマヌエル、その意味は「神様は私たちと共にいる」です。
I wonder if anything can truly be called ordinary if God is there, or does it become something more.
神がそこにいらっしゃるなら、何かが平凡だと本当に言えるのでしょうか？
あるいは、それはもっと特別なものになるのでしょうか。
This is where I want to begin today - with the mystery of God's presence.
今日、私が始めたいのはここです ― 神の臨在という神秘から
A presence that changes ordinary places into holy ground.
いつもの場所を聖なる地へと変える臨在
A presence that calls ordinary people into God's purposes.
普通の人々を神様のご計画へと招き入れる臨在
A presence that sets us free to walk with God in ordinary moments.
日常の瞬間に神様と共に歩む自由を与える臨在です。
Exodus 3:1-14
出エジプト記３：１－１４（１０１ページ）【聖書朗読】
The story of Moses at the burning bush begins in the ordinary.
燃える柴のモーセの物語は、ごく普通の出来事から始まります。
Moses was not fasting.
モーセは断食していたわけでもありませんでした。
He was not seeking a vision.
幻を探し求めていたわけでもありませんでした。
He was doing what he had done for years — watching sheep in the wilderness.
長年続けてきた、いつものこと ―― 荒野で羊の番をしていたのです。
And then — a bush.
そこに一本の柴。
A desert shrub, nothing unusual.
砂漠の低木、何の変哲もない木です。
But this one was burning.
しかし、この一本だけは燃えていました。
And yet, it was not consumed.
そして、燃え尽きることがありませんでした。
Moses turned aside and God spoke his name: “Moses, Moses.”
モーセが近寄ると、神様が彼の名を呼びました。「モーセ、モーセ」
And then He said: “Take off your sandals.
The ground where you are standing is holy ground.”
そして彼に言われました。「あなたの履き物を脱げ。あなたが立っている場所は聖なる地である。」
The dirt had not changed.
土は変わっていませんでした。
The bush had not changed.
柴も変わっていませんでした。
What made it holy was the presence of God.
それを聖なるものとしたのは、神の臨在でした。
And when Moses asked, “Who is sending me?”
モーセが「私を遣わすのはどなたですか」と尋ねた時、
God revealed His Name.
神様はご自分の名前を明らかにされました。
“I am who I am.”
「わたしはある」という者である
YHWH.
ヤハウェ
This Hebrew name of God is a word that mimics the sound of breath.
神様のヘブル語のお名前は、息の音をなぞらえた単語です。
To speak God's Name is to breathe.
神様のお名前を呼ぶことは、息を吐くことです。
YH... WH...
やー はー
The very breath in our lungs testifies to God's presence.
私たちの肺にある息そのものが、神の臨在を証ししています。
YH... WH...
やー はー
Every inhale, every exhale, whispers His Name.
吸う息も、吐く息も、主の御名をささやきます。
YH... WH...
やー はー
Even when we forget Him.
私たちが主を忘れている時でさえ
Even when we feel alone.
一人ぼっちに感じるときでさえ
The breath itself is reminder.
息そのものが、思い出させます
YH... WH...
やー はー
This is the God who is nearer than our own breath.
私たちの息よりも近くにおられる神様です。
This is the God who makes holy ground out of ordinary dirt.
いつもの土地を聖なる地に変えられる神様です。
And in Jesus, we see this mystery fulfilled.
そしてイエス様において、この神秘は成就しました。
God comes, not in a palace but in a stable.
神様は宮殿ではなく、馬小屋に来られます。
Not with armies, but as a carpenter.
軍隊と共にではなく、ひとりの大工として。
Not far above us, but among us.
はるか上ではなく、私たちのただ中に。
God’s presence does not turn away from the ordinary.
神の臨在は、平凡なものに背を向けません。
He embraces it.
主はむしろそれを抱きしめます。
And when He does, it becomes holy.
そして、主がそうなさる時、それは聖なるものになります。
But God’s presence does not stop with comfort.
しかし、神の臨在は、慰めや平安でストップしません。
It moves outward.
それは外へと広がっていくのです。
The God who says, “I am here,” also says, “I am sending you.”
「私はここにいる」と言われる神様は、同時に「私はあなたを遣わす」ともおっしゃいます。
Moses resists at first, saying, “Who am I? I cannot speak well. I am not enough.”
モーセは最初は抵抗し、「私は、いったい何者なのでしょう。私は口下手です。私は十分ではありません」と言いました。
And God does not argue with him.
神様は彼と論じ合おうとされません。
He does not say, “Moses, you are stronger than you think.”
「モーセよ、お前は思っている以上に強いのだ」ともおっしゃいません。
He says, “I will be with you.”
主は「わたしが、あなたとともにいる。（12節）」と言われました。
Calling is never rooted in our sufficiency or in our ability.
召命は決して、私たちの十分さや能力に根ざすものではありません。
It is rooted in God’s presence.
それは神の臨在に根ざしています。
This is what Jesus does.
これがイエス様のなさることです。
He calls fishermen, tax collectors, women without social standing.
漁師や取税人、社会的地位のない女性たちを呼ばれます。
He calls the ordinary.
主は普通の人々を呼ばれます。
And then He sends them.
そして彼らを遣わされます。
Not because of what they bring.
彼らが何かをもたらすからではありません。
But because He Himself goes with them.
主ご自身が彼らと共におられるからです。
And still today, God calls us in the same way.
そして今もなお、神様は同じように私たちを招いておられます。
Not to create extraordinary moments.
並はずれた瞬間を創り出すためではなく
But to carry His presence into ordinary ones.
ただ、主の臨在を日常の瞬間にもたらすために。
Into schools.
学校の中に
Into kitchens.
台所に
Into offices.
オフィスに
Onto train platforms.
駅のホームに
Into cafés.
喫茶店に
This is the pattern:
次のような、お決まりの流れがあります：
God meets us in the ordinary.
神様は日常の中で私たちと出会われます。
And then He sends us back into the ordinariness of others’ lives.
それから、神様は私たちを、他の人の日常へと送り戻されます
And the one who sends us goes with us.
私たちを遣わすお方は、私たちと共に行かれます。
And why does God send Moses?
ところで、なぜ神様はモーセを遣わされたのでしょうか。
Because He has seen the suffering of His people.
ご自身の民の苦しみをご覧になったからでした。
He has heard their cries.
人々の叫びを聞き、
He knows their pain.
彼らの痛みをご存知なので
And His desire is to set them free.
彼らを自由にすることを切望しておられます。
Out of slavery and into His presence.
奴隷から解放し、主の臨在の中へ
Freedom in Scripture is never just escape.
聖書における自由は、単なる脱出だけのことではありません。
It is not only release from chains.
それは鎖からの解放だけではなく、
It is freedom into something.
何かへと向かう自由です。
Freedom into God’s presence.
神の臨在への自由
Freedom to live without fear.
恐れなく生きる自由
Freedom to walk without shame.
恥じることなく歩む自由
This is what Jesus brings.
これがイエス様がもたらしてくださるものです。
He proclaims liberty to the captives.
イエス様は捕らわれ人に解放を宣言し
Release to the oppressed.
虐げられている人を自由の身とし
Through the cross, He breaks the power of sin and death.
十字架を通して、罪と死の力を打ち砕かれます
Through His resurrection, He opens the way into true freedom.
復活によって、真の自由への道を開かれます
And this freedom is not always loud.
この自由は、必ずしも派手なものではありません
It is not always dramatic.
常にドラマチックなものでもありません。
Often it is quiet, like breath.
しばしばそれは息のように静かです。
Each inhale, each exhale, whispering His Name.
ひとたびごとに主の御名ささやく呼吸のように、
The Spirit reminding us: “You are free. You are mine.”
御霊が私たちに思い出させます：「あなたは自由だ。あなたは私のものだ。」
But Moses’ story does not end at the bush.
モーセの物語は燃える柴で終わっていません。
Exodus 33:15-23

Later, after years in the wilderness,
その後、荒野での長い年月を経て、
Moses has learned something deeper.
モーセはより深い真理を学んでいました
He says to God: “Do not send us up from here if Your presence does not go with us.
彼は神様に言いました。「もしあなたのご臨在がともに行かないのなら、私たちをここから導き上らないでください。（15節）
For what else will distinguish me and Your people from all the others on the earth?”
そうでなかったら、私やあなたの民と、地上の他の民とに、どうやって違いを見出せるでしょうか」
This is a man who knows: It is not leadership.
モーセは知っていました。それは指導力ではない。
It is not skill.
技術ではない。
It is not strength.
力でもない。
It is only God’s presence.
ただ神の臨在だけである、と。
And then Moses dares to ask for more.
そしてモーセはさらに大胆にも求めます
“Show me Your glory.”
「あなたの栄光を私に見せてください」
It is as if he says, “I want the extraordinary.”
それはまるで「並外れたものが欲しい」と言っているかのようです。
But God, in His wisdom, says: “You cannot see My face.
しかし神様は、知恵をもってこう言われました。「あなたはわたしの顔を見ることはできない。（20節）
But you may see My back.”
しかし、わたしの背中を見ることはできる」
Moses longs for the extraordinary.
モーセは並外れたものを切に求めました。
And God gives him the ordinary.
神様は彼に平凡なものをお与えになりました。
Just a glimpse.
ほんのひと目。
The passing presence.
通り過ぎる臨在。
And maybe that is the heart of it.
おそらくそれが核心です。
The glory of God is not always found in thunder and fire.
神様の栄光はいつも雷と炎の中に見出されるわけではない。
It is revealed in glimpses.
それは一瞬の間に現わされます
In the ordinary.
ありふれた日常の中に。
In the Name we breathe with every breath.
私たちが息を吐くたびに口にする御名の中に。
In the God who walks beside us unseen, but never absent.
目には見えなくても、決して離れることのない、私たちの傍らを歩む神様の中に。
So what does this mean for us?
さて、それで、これは私たちにとって何を意味するのでしょうか
Moses met God in a bush.
モーセは燃える柴の中で神様と出会いました。
The disciples met God in a carpenter.
弟子たちはひとりの大工という中で神様と出会いました。
And we are invited to meet Him in the ordinariness of our lives.
私たちは、日常の平凡さの中で神様と出会うよう招かれています。
The presence of God transforms ordinary ground into holy ground.
神の臨在は、いつもの地を聖なる地へと変えます。
The call of God transforms ordinary people into carriers of His presence.
神様の招きは、普通の人々を神の臨在を運ぶ者へと変えます。
The freedom of God transforms ordinary lives into lives made new.
神様の自由は、平凡な人生を新しくされた人生へと変えます。
Perhaps the invitation is not to chase the extraordinary.
おそらく招きとは、並外れたものを追い求めることではないのでしょう
But to notice the ordinary.
むしろ、平凡なものに気づくことです
To hear His Name in our own breathing.
自らの息遣いに主の御名を聴き取ること。
To recognize His glory even in glimpses.
ちらっと見える事柄の中に、神様の栄光を見出すこと。
To remember that every breath testifies
ひと呼吸、ひと呼吸が証ししていると思い出すこと。
YH... WH...
やー はー
So may we learn, like Moses, to say, “Do not send us without Your presence.”
どうか、私たちもモーセのように「あなたの臨在なしに、私たちを行かせないでください」と語ることを学べますように。
And may we dare to ask for more,
大胆に求めることができますように。
trusting that even when God only shows us His back,
たとえ神様が背中しか見せてくださらない時でさえ
even when He meets us in the ordinary,
たとえ神様が平凡な中で私たちに会われる時でさえ、
it is still His glory passing by.
それでもなお、神様の栄光が通り過ぎているのだと信頼して。
Every breath we take whispers His Name.
私たちが吐く息ひとつひとつが、主の御名をささやきます
Every breath is testimony:
ひと息、ひと息が証しです：
The God who is with us has not left us.
私たちと共におられる神様は、私たちを置いていかれることはありません。
And this comes with an invitation to us as Christians.
これは、クリスチャンである私たちへの招きでもあります
An invitation to go into the world,
この世に出ていく招き
to ordinary places,
いつもの場所に、
among ordinary people, and in ordinary moments carry God’s presence with us.
普通の人々の間に、そして日常の瞬間に神の臨在を携えて行くという招きです。
It is then that God will turn those ordinary places into holy ground.
その時、神様は、それらのいつもの場所を聖なる地へと変えてくださいます。
It is there that we invite others into this presence with us
私たちは他の人々をこの臨在へと招くのです。
So that they can walk freely with us in God's presence
Knowing the love and freedom made available to us through Jesus death and resurrection.
イエス様の死と復活によって与えられた愛と自由を彼らが知って、
私たちと共に神の臨在の中を自由に歩むために
There is a an English song I would like to share with you.
みなさんにシェアしたい英語の歌があります。
In this song, the artist is walking down busy everyday streets.
この歌の中で、歌い手は日常の賑やかな通りを歩いています。
He is looking at all the people around.
周囲の人々を見つめながら
And he is asking God for new perspective in this ordinary commute.
そして彼は、このいつもの通勤路に新たな視点を与えてくださいと神様に祈っています。
It goes like this.
このような歌です。

「何度も何度も通った道
A couple of million eyes
大量の目が
Just move and pass me by
ただ私の近くを通り過ぎていくだけ

人へのあなたの愛を私にも与えてください」
As we go about our seemingly ordinary lives,
一見平凡に見える日常を生きる中で
I want to invite us to ask God, like in this song,
この歌のように神様に願い求めることをお勧めしたいと思います。
To give us His eyes so that we can see the glimpses of His back all around us
私たちの周囲にある主の背中をちらりと見ることができるように、私たちに主の目を与えてくださいと。
So that we can know his presence even in the ordinariness of life
人生の平凡さの中にさえ、神の臨在を知ることができるように
And invite others into that presence with us so that they too can experience this great love that sets us free.
そして他の人々も私たちと共にその臨在へと招き、彼らもまた私たちを自由にする、この偉大な愛を体験できるように
